Tarski Merceda Reviews Man of Steel

Man of Steel in My Opinion is the best comic book movie ever made and the best movie of all time. Zack Snyder just nailed it with this one. This movie just had everything that I ever wanted in a Superman movie and more.

Man of Steel starts off on the planet Krypton which we got to see a good amount of, more than I was expecting actually and I loved every minute of it. We get to see why and how Kal-El was sent to planet earth. I really love the fact that we got to know more about General Zod, that way you get were his character is coming from. Michael Shannon just did an amazing job as Zod and I really can't see anyone else playing that role. Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and everyone else were just amazing in this movie. Everyone played there parts perfectly. There were a couple of flashbacks throughout this movie and that through some people off but I thought they did it in a very nice way. It seems like some people are really nitpicking this movie and I'm not so sure why but it definitely didn't deserve a 56% on Rotten Tomatoes. The complaints are stupid and here's why.

"Too much action!" Well it's an action movie so it's supposed to be action packed. I enjoyed every minute of it and so did audiences cause it's currently the #1 movie in the world.

"Not enough character development" there was enough character development.

"Amy Adams and Superman's relationship moved too fast" I thought it was find. It's not like they jumped in bed together right after meeting each other, Superman is a good looking guy, smart, caring, has superpowers and can sweep her off her feet, literally, so it wasn't surprising to me that she fell for him. Lois is gorgeous, strong, smart and determine, so it's with no surprise that Superman fell for her.

"The movie wasn't fun" are you kidding me?!?! What movie were you watching!? This movie has humor, sure it didn't have a lot of it but it's kinda hard to make jokes when theres an alien invasion... One of my favorite scenes in the movie was when Clark was in that Diner and this guy poured beer on top of his head, what follows after that was hilarious! Man of Steel also has heart, that tornado scene with Pa Kent made tears come out my eyes and they just did it beautifully. The special effects in this movie were mind blowing, it was hard to tell what was CGI and what was real. I don't know how they did it but they pulled it off. If you love action you will love this movie! If you have good taste in movies then you will love this movie!

Man of Steel made Avengers and Iron Man 3 look like Bob The Builder.
As for Henry Cavill, he was born to play this role. It's like he came right out of the comics and into the real world. I love everyone in this movie but Henry was my favorite. No disrespect to Christopher Reeve but Henry Cavill is Superman, PERIOD.
Audiences love this movie and gived it a Cinemascore of A-
All I gotta say is Man of Steel is an amazing movie and you gotta see it for yourself. I give it a 10/10

Lex Luthor isn't black???

Do you think Lex Luthor is black in Superman/Justice League cartoons?
"His design was inspired by Telly Savalas and his features are meant to be suggestively Greek. You can hear Timm and others talk about it in the commentary tracks of the Superman cartoon."
Lol he wasn't designed to be an African American but for years I thought he was. He even sounds black....

A chunk of Kryptonite

When Krypton exploded, its fragments crossed through a radiation belt that irradiated them, making the rocks extremely toxic to anyone with Kryptonian physiology, but mostly harmless to anyone else. The mineral causes Superman to lose his powers and experience extraordinary pain and eventually death. If from suffering Kryptonite poisoning, he can recover if he gets away from the Kryptonite and exposes himself to yellow sun radiation, thus fueling his healing factor. Kryptonite has been known to cause harm such as cancer to humans after prolonged exposure to its radiation. (Most notably, Lex Luthor who had to have his hand amputated after wearing a kryptonite ring for an extended period of time during John Byrne's rebiit of Superman after Crisis of the Infinite Earths.) There are several types of Kryptonite and all have different effects on him.

"In New 52 appearances, the Kryptonite is again referred to as being rare, is shown that can be used as an energy source . The
mineral doesn't take away the Superman's powers, but is able to decrease it . It is unknown if has effects on humans."

Physical Exertion:
In his Pre-52 appearances, there have been instances when Superman has had to physically exert himself for extended periods of time. Due to this, his body has
little time to rest and recover and thus fails to absorb a sufficient amount of solar energy to continuously power his body. The best example of this was when Superman fought Doomsday which lead to his death.

It is unknown if this still affects Superman in the New 52, but as of yet, Superman has never been forced to physically exert himself and considering his powers still stem from solar absorption, it's safe to assume that it's still possible.

Superman cannot see through lead.

Red Sun Radiation:Superman is weakened when exposed to red solar energy similar to that of his home planet's sun, Rao. Superman will lose his Kryptonian abilities when exposed to red sun energy and must be recharged by yellow sun energy in order to regain them.

Tarski Merceda Reviews Apocalypto

Apocalypto blew me away!
co-written, produced and directed by Mel Gibson. It was written by Gibson and Farhad Safinia.

I saw this movie a few weeks ago when it came on BBC America. I was about to change the channel but then I decided to give it a chance and I'm so glad I did because this movie delivered!
Apocalypto is about a tribe that gets attacked in there village, then later captured to be offered up as sacrifice. It's a survival flick about a man whose trying to both live and save his family. It might not sound like this movie has a lot to offer but trust me it does.

Apocalypto is an action packed, fun and an awesome adventure film. Don't watch this one wuth the kids cause it's pretty violent and bloody but for people old enough for this kind of movie it's glorious. the action starts in the beginning of the film then later it slows down a bit but it never gets boring. The end of this movie is awesome!!
I gotta say I enjoyed the heck out of this movie! Watch it on Netflix, rent it, buy it. Trust me you won't regret it. I give Apocalypto an 8/10
