My Top 10 Cartoon Intro's From The 90'S

I thought about doing a top 10 best animated shows from the 90's but I decided to start with the intro's first. There were a lot of great intro's back then and to this day I still find myself humming the theme song from X-Men: The Animated Series. Do you have a favorite animated intro from the 90's? if so, let me know in the comments down below. (Shows that started in 80's and continued into the 90's will not be included in this countdown. I'll do a top 10 for the 80's if you guys want)

Without further ado, here's my "Top 10 Cartoon Intro's From The 90's"

10. Spider-Man: The Animated Series

Sure, this isn't the greatest intro but it's one of my favorites. You get to see a bit of web swinging and action sequences. The music isn't too bad either. This is my favorite Spider-Man animated series, the animation doesn't hold up all that well but the story and action scenes makes up for it.

Original Run: (1994 - 1998)
Plot: A young man with spider-like abilities fights crime as a superhero in New York City while trying to have a normal personal life. (IMDB)

9. TaleSpin

This show has such a fun and catchy song. You can't help but to dance a little whenever it comes on. Whenever I would watch this show when I was younger I felt like I was right there with them in their adventures, I believe that the intro has a lot to do with that.

Original Run: (1990 -1991)
Plot: This casts key characters from the Jungle Book into a 1930's pacific setting where Baloo is a bush pilot who finds himself as part of a struggling courier company. (IMDB, Kenneth Chisholm)

8. Doug

This is a simple, catchy and well done intro. As an artist myself, I love how they made the drawings come to life! I actually would really love it if they brought back this show with new episodes, I don't know why but I would really like to see that happen.

Original Run: (1991 - 1994)
Plot: 11 year old Doug Funnie moves to Bluffington from Bloatsburg. "Doug" follows his adventures as he writes in his journal. He falls in love with Patti Mayonnaise and befriends Skeeter Valentine. They all are in grade 6 in the Bluffington School and Doug tries no to make himself look like a loser in front of everyone. (IMDB, Doug_Funnie)

7. Hey Arnold!
Love this show and its intro! It introduces the main characters in such a cool way, the song is also a perfect fit. One of the things that makes the intro so good is the fact that the only thing being said throughout the song is "Hey Arnold"... Did you count how many times his name was said in the intro? His name was mentioned 8 times and not once did it become annoying.

Original Run: (1996 - 2004)
Plot: The everyday life of Arnold, a 4th-grader in a nameless city that resembles Brooklyn, New York, who lives in a multi-racial boarding house with his grandparents and a motley assortment of neighbors and friends. (IMDB)

6. Pinky and The Brain
Whenever I hear this intro I can't help but to smile and nod my head. Pinky and The Brain is a brilliant show and the theme song goes perfectly with it. This brings back memories... Who do you like more, Pinky or Brain?

Original Run: (1995 - 1998)

Plot: A genius mouse and his stupid sidekick try to conquer the world each night. (IMDB)

5. Batman Beyond

I hate it when an amazing show don't last long... Batman Beyond will always have a special place in my heart. I really love this show and its intro, the intro really captures the era in which the show is taken place in but it's not so far off that it becomes unrelatable. I found Terry McGinnis more relatable than Bruce Wayne actually. Anyone who's watched the show would agree.

Original Run: (1999 -2001)

Plot: Fueled by remorse and vengeance, a high schooler named Terry McGinnis revives the role of Batman. Under supervision of an elderly Bruce Wayne, he fights crime in a harsh futuristic Gotham. (IMDB)

4.Darkwing Duck
This show is so much fun and so is the intro. You can't help but sing along whenever the chorus comes on...
Darkwing Duck (When there's trouble you call DW)
Darkwing Duck (Let's get dangerous)
Darkwing Duck (Darkwing, Darkwing Duck!)

Original Run: (1991 - 1995)
Plot: A bumbling superhero battles crime with the help of his daughter and pilot sidekick. (IMDB)

3. Pokemon
Everybody knows the song in this intro, heck even my mother knows the song intro and she doesn't even watch Pokemon. Whenever the show came on everybody at my house sang along to it.

Original Run: (1998- )

Plot: Ash aspieres to be the greatest Pokemon trainer in the world. To do this, he enlists the help of two friends, Misty and Brock, and his own Pokemon, Pikachu. Together, they must search their world for all 150 Pokemon, while avoiding the likes of Team Rocket and their Pokemon, Meowth. (IMDB, ZeroG1)

2. X-Men: The Animated Series
X-Men: The Animated Series is one of my all time favorite animated series. To this day it still holds up and who could forget about that intro! DaDaDaDaDaDa, DADADADADADA! haha, how can anyone not love that.

Original Run: (1992 - 1997)
Plot: A team of mutant superheroes fight for justice and human acceptance in the Marvel Comics universe. (IMDB)

1. Batman: The Animated Series
It comes with no surprise that Batman: The Animated Series ended up at number 1. Not only was this an amazing show, it also had an equally amazing intro to go with it. The music is catchy, cool and captured the essence of the show. It's a simple, beautifully done intro and to this day there hasn't been another intro to top it.

Original Run: (1992 - 1995)
Plot: The Dark Knight battles crime in Gotham City with occasional help from Robin and Batgirl. (IMDB)

What did you think of my top 10? Is there an intro that you felt I should've added to this list? If so, let me know in the comments down below this video.
