TMNT 2 Review

I find it hard to believe that some people are expecting an Oscar quality writing from a story about four mutant turtles...

With that said, I had a blast watching this movie! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows made me feel like a kid again. Although I enjoyed the first film, this sequel was a lot better. They heard the complaints and improved this time around. There's definitely a story in this film but who really cares honestly, this is a Ninja Turtles film. The people behind this film understood what it was, which is a fun action flick. If you're a Ninja Turtles fan you should really enjoy this movie, it's got things that cater to both older and younger fans.

Not only do the turtles have to deal with Shredder, but they have to deal with Krang as well. On top of that they have to also deal with Bebop and Rocksteady, who in my opinion stole every single scene that they were in. There's a couple of new faces in this sequel but no one stood out like those two. There's even this awesome fight sequence with them fighting the turtles that took place on a plane, then a river, which had Rocksteady emerging from the water on a tank! A TANNNKK! What more could you ask for!? The fan service in this film is like nothing I've ever seen before (Take notes Ghostbusters).

The side characters were descent for the most part, from April, Vernon, Casey, Splinter and so on... But I'm glad they took a backseat in this sequel. The main focus should always be on the Turtles. Sure, it's not a masterpiece but it's an entertaining movie. They improved on the design of the turtles, added more fan service and a lot more action. They've given us what we asked for, but I guess you can't please everyone.

I give TMNT 2 an 8/10

Go see it, not only will your kids have a good time, but so will you!
